Well as far as office work is concerned HP Laptops are good value for money. Though Dell and Sony have a good brand value you will get the exact same features with less money from HP.
Im a student and im looking to buy a laptop/desktop but unfortunetly im not the best at finding a good one, The laptop/desktop im looking for should have a high speed and be able to surf the web and do day to day student activitys with ease such as spreadsheets, word processors, reasearch etc. Im also a very Skilled gamer ( in my opinion if not others) so it should be able to meet the sysytem requirments of halo 2 and if it could be at a fair price it would make my day, Thanks for the help!! = )
Try Carbonfrost Systems. You should at least get 3 Gigs of RAM, tons of hard drive and a quad core processor. Also CF will be giving a pretty good video card for that price range also.
Also contact them directly at email@example.com as they are always having secret sales and stuff so you can get tons of stuff for free. Plus its all name brand parts and 3 year warranty. Great stuff.
Best laptops for college students?
I am planning on buying a new laptop within the next few months as my desktop computer is essentially defunct at this point. Although I will be a high school senior in the fall, I am planning on purchasing a notebook that will be durable and longlasting.
For your consideration, I am planning on double majoring in biology and English with a premedical focus. Ideally, this laptop would be able to last me through medical school (essentially, for the next nine+ years) although the abilities of a single computer to last that long are dubitable, I must admit.
I am looking for a notebook that would be used primarily for schoolwork and composition in addition to the use of the Internet, iTunes, possibly videos, etc. I don’t play games or anything like that; however, I would hope that the laptop would have sufficient memory in addition to being lightweight and portable. I am most familiar with using Windows / PC’s.
Thanks for the help.
I disagree with the comment on the Mac. My daughter just completed her teaching degree and she used a Mac throughout. In fact the Mac was the most used computer in the classroom and the students were able to purchase software for it at a substantial discount through the campus store. During her teacher certification she entered an awards competition and was awarded a free Mac Book with all the software required for the teachers certification program. The Mac is a much more common and accepted platform for education than are the Windows machines.
I would recommend you to check out ProCompare.com (http://procompare.com/top/notebooks). They have a recommendation engine that ranks laptops and other tech products based on ratings and reviews from a community of trusted IT professionals. They also have a cool personalization slider that lets you personalize the results based on the criteria that are most important to YOU.
